Introduction:

Learn remote situations first aid for when medical attention or assistance is beyond the reach of timely medical assistance. This course covers the first aid skills required to attend to an injured or ill person for an extended period, due to isolated location, rough terrain or severe weather.

Develop the confidence to provide the appropriate first aid response, life support and management of the patient. Learn how to manage the incident and other first aiders in remote situations until medical assistance arrives.

Important
Participants need to have successfully completed Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) within six months of completing this course.
THIS COURSE DOES NOT INCLUDE A SNAKE BITE KIT

 

Target Audience:

Remote area workers, travellers, tour guides, agricultural sector workers, remote and Aboriginal community residents. The course can be adapted for organisations or groups with specific remote requirements.

Learning Outcomes:

  • On successful completion of this remote first aid course, students will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment
  • Units of Competency: HLTAID005 Provide First Aid in Remote Situations, HLTAID003 Provide First Aid, HLTAID002 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support and HTLAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
